What can you use the app for?

When investing money in the stock market, information is extremely valuable. This is especially true in the realm of risk management. Understanding risk management and knowing how much risk an investor is taking on compared to how much they can handle can allow that investor to survive. ZingFin provides investors with a resource to gather information and make better decisions about which investments they choose to put their money into. The application includes an investment comparison tool, loan analyzer, Forex calculator, power search and options pay off graph. The user can arm themselves with vital information that will help them make sound decisions about their investments. Although there are ways to gather this information without ZingFin, the application tries to simplify the process and allows users to do research using only one convenient resource.

What is the history and popularity of the app?

ZingFin was founded in January of 2010. Based out of New York City, New York, the team remains small, consisting of less than five individuals including CEO Balaji Viswanathan and CTO Karthik Lakshminarayanan. The application’s original intent was to simplify the process of investing and make information accessible to all investors, including newcomers to the stock market. Today, the site is still in beta but offers tools that provide information to help investors maintain and increase profits.

What are the differences to other apps?

The internet is full of investing information and other tools. Some sites provide a handful of resources while others may only include one or two tools. ZingFin offers a full list of helpful options to educate and inform investors. Although there are a few alternatives that offer comparable resources, ZingFin does so in a way that is easy for any investor to understand (even a novice level trader).

How does the web app look and feel to use?

The ZingFin website users a blue and white color scheme complimented by colorful headers and screenshots. The site looks outdated. Users can navigate using five links across the top of the homepage or by entering keywords into the search tool found just below. The site uses color coded maps and diagrams to help users gain more insight into their investments.

How does the registration process work?

New visitors may be surprised to learn that ZingFin does not yet offer a log in option. All the tools and resources found on the site are available to anyone. Visitors can stop by and check out the calculators or learn about market status without logging in. This is great for convenience; however a registration option might encourage users to return. ZingFin is still in beta so there is a possibility of this changing in the future. No further information has been given so for now, there is no registration option available.

What does it cost to use the application?

ZingFin is available to anyone and the site does not offer a registration option. No registration also means no cost. There are no subscription fees or other charges for using the site. Anyone can access ZingFin for free. This is great for all investors, especially new traders who may have limited funds. The site is still in beta, so it is possible that a paid membership option could be added later.

Who would you recommend the application to?

ZingFin is tailored to one specific group: those who invest in the stock market. The site includes helpful tools that can educate and inform users so they make better decisions about where they put their money. The site is hard to use and we don't recommend it.
